FEDEX CONSOLIDATION CREATES RECRUITING OPPORTUNITIES

08/20/2024

The Wall Street Journal reported[1] that national delivery giant FedEx continues to consolidate its Ground and Express networks into a single channel. The dual-structure became more costly as more business came from store delivery orders rather than time-sensitive packages.  Fed Ex is continuing to consolidate facilities and eliminate redundances in its system by bringing these networks together.

Along with closing dozens of buildings and retiring 32 jets, the Company has reduced 22,000 jobs through attrition and layoffs.  Warehouse and driver personnel were among the groups heavily reduced that are now available to hire, especially drivers. Time-sensitive local deliveries are a specialty of small Final-Mile companies.  Former FedEx drivers could be well-suited for work as an employee or as new owner/operator businesses. If your company has additional roles it needs to fill let SCI and Adapt help with social media advertising campaigns targeted at these former FedEx personnel.
